Good50.com is an interesting search engine that may be of value to those who eye sight is not 20/20. In its own words,
‘Good50.com : A search engine for older adults, seniors, and young children. Powered by Google.’ I would add, ‘and for the visually impaired’. When you arrive at the sight you’ll see a large search field. Notice that there is also a Low Vision Version (black background w/ white letters). I showed the two versions to a legally blind high school student and she was able to see the Low Vision better.
How to use it…
Type in your search keywords and ‘Search’. You can increase the results in Internet Explorer by clicking on the drop down menu beside the magnifier glass. If you use Chrome or Firefox you can hold down ‘CTRL’ and roll the wheel on the mouse.
The features are limited as there are no images, news, videos, etc. There is, however, an interesting ‘Wikipedia’ search function.
Thanks to Kim Komando for pointing out this great search engine.
Give it a try! Good50.com
