I spent quite a bit of the day trying to figure out if our school’s security and communication Motorola two-way radios were UHF or VHS. For some reason the district needed to know but no one had a clue how to find out. Here is the answer! Of course, I did a Google search but was unsuccessful. Hope it saves you time someday! : )
- A VHS radio has a thinner, taller antenna which is about ink pen (think bic pen) diameter. VHF has poorer reception.
- A UHF radio has a thicker, shorter antenna about the size of a cigar. UHF has better reception.
